Yeah, that's a great way of making sure things are somewhat stable.
But not everyone has a buddy like that though, unfortunately.
FIND one! I said in my post it shouldn't be someone close. This forum has 100s of gamblers, supposedly. You claim you're one, go make a buddy if addiction is so important or if you want to help offer yourself...
The break here that I catch is to stop playing gambling for a while. not always in front of the computer or in the casino continuously. indeed, rest is very important because in addition to maintaining brain health so as not to always think about gambling, it also maintains mental health.
take a break, for example, 1 day not playing gambling, or if you can't rest for a few hours before returning to the gambling arena. even better as @nullama
just go for a walk in nature, disconnect from the grid.
But you guys lost the whole point of this thread. If you're addicted, you can't stop yourself. You can't rely or even trust yourself.
Breaks are good, they work. But an addict can't push himself to stop and take a break.
Hence my solution of a buddy system.
