Girona have been in a very strong position this season compared to Almeria. But the match was a goalless draw. I was very disappointed with Girona's performance in this match. We haven't seen such a poor performance from Girona's players this season. Almeria players dominated the entire match. Girona players were able to make a total of 5 shots in this match. As the Almeria players performed, I would say they deserve 3 points in this match. But unfortunately for them, due to not having any experienced striker, they could not score any goal despite attacking a lot.
Perhaps Girona's decline has begun. They have drawn two of their last three matches. And soon the Girona team will lose the top spot in the points table.
Wouldn't be surprised it's the norm - sometimes relegation teams give the top teams a hard time when they want to keep their points but it's never predictable, because my guess is that Girona would have won easily with at least 3 points but the scoreless result was a disappointment.
A draw for Almeria is more than enough if they win then it's a great team to beat a tough team, but it's still unlucky and indeed Almeria's squad lacks potential players.
Now this is my question. Could this be the start of Girona's decline? Sometimes it's when the second half gets going that teams start to shake.
