Can gambling actually change someone who is bad mannered for good instead of getting them more complicated in their wrong doings, same way we can see gambling as a means of getting ourselves attached to something that could get us being occupied than having much time on unnecessary things, we should also be mindful of not allowing irresponsible gambling to affect our personal relationships.
Gambling can never change anyone that is bad to good but it can make it worse if care is not taken. This is the reason why we have to be careful as we gamble so that we are not doing it amiss and causing irresponsibility for us. Gambling might be good and can be fun and give us money but the approach we engage it with matters so well. This is why some people will be having a good experience with gambling and telling good stories about how it earns them money and still have their fun through it, and while this good testimony might be split among users, it might still be true for a single user, I mean both of them (testimonies) to prove that gambling could be good.

This makes gambling not entirely as bad as some will even think of it, it now depends on the smartness, carefulness or carelessness of the users. The sportsbook to be precise is a very good one for those who are wise, they can have their good experience with it if they are careful and will never affect anything good in them, be it relations or finances, it is all about the budget and plans and the speculations of the bettor. The time they have for betting matters too, we should not let it affect us and cause us to be irresponsible for whatever reason, once the spare time allotted for it has lapsed, we should just do other necessary things and let go to avoid letting it occupy our good time unnecessarily which could strain other things in life.

Actually, the addiction can't depend on the smartness, alertness, or carelessness of the user. Once you get addicted, you cannot easily get out of that addiction, and it is not under one's control. The lure of money earned from gambling strongly attracts people to gambling in the hope of winning more money. More or less everyone has greed for money, it does not depend on smartness or unsmartness. Addiction makes people so intoxicated that there are instances of suicide after losing money.
You are right and I can never have any doubt about that, and maybe you got me wrong, all these characteristics (carefulness in this case) are to be possessed and preserved by the gambler before they become addicted, not after they are addicted already. If they possess them before getting addicted, perhaps they can be aware, sensitive and be more cautious so as not to allow the addiction to happen to them even as they bet rightly and be responsible in their gambling activities. But if they lose and they are addicted already, of course, nothing again can enter their ears and mind easily and as people advise them, they get to throw the advice away. This is it because addiction works like madness at times, it will intoxicate you but still not control your entire brain which is why it is a soft madness, but internally, the person is not psychologically balanced anymore.

It takes either external help or the internal Willpower of the person to overcome. They will only think of gambling and will continue to lose money in this regard and will not stop until they do not have money to play again. And this of course will push them into financial recklessness and be so irresponsible to themselves and everyone around them. It must be prevented if possible and that was my plight in the first reply.
