I really don't like double standards for teams but there is nothing we can do about it unfortunately. Manchester City also faced issues with FFP but they didn't get punished for that. When Everton do a similar thing their situation is evaluated differently. Why do these FFP rules are only applied for smaller teams?
I don't think this is an issue of bigger and smaller clubs, but rather how much contact and influence the investors have on the organization. The owners of ManCity simply have a better connection here. In addition, ManCity is certainly treated differently than a club like Everton, which has little to no international appeal. That's just football and the sporting world in general. Just look at the election of Messi as world footballer. That was no longer about performance, otherwise Erling Haaland would have had to win.
