Yesterday West Ham lost in the FA cup against a team playing in a much lower division than the Premier League and that for me was a really big surprise result.A team from the Premier League who happen to have won not long ago the Europa Conference League to lose to a team playing in a lower division. That shows that West Ham is truly in a volatile performance in the Premier League.
I thought West Ham would recover in the second half, but Benrahma's red card turned the whole order upside down. Unfortunately, after this moment, nothing was achieved other than waiting helplessly against Bristol. They don't care much about the FA Cup, but it must still be sad for them to lose to a team in the lower league.
I almost placed a bet on this match and was lucky I didn't add it to my multibet. I felt quite strange because even though West Ham were very favored to win, in fact they were powerless in front of Bristol. The difference in squad depth is very large, but here West Ham couldn't score a single goal against Bristol. West Ham conceded first and although they had plenty of time to turn things around, David Moyes' strategy didn't seem to be working quite smoothly.
After the red card, it strengthened the signal that West Ham would not win this FA Cup match and it seemed they were also tired because they had not scored a goal. I think West Ham are not very willing to accept this defeat but if they are still thinking about it then it will be more difficult for them to recover. West Ham must forget about the FA Cup and return to focusing on their main job and competing with other teams in the EPL. I think they have other reasons for this defeat and what is more important now is to be able to finish in a good position at the end of the season.
