I don't understand how can anyone claim that Strickland won the belt due to luck. You could say that if he had won by a lucky punch etc, but they fought a full distance and he dominated Adesanya in 4 out of 5 rounds (iirc).
In his last 11 fights he lost only to Pereira who, since then, proved he's a real deal by winning the middleweight belt and then the lightweight belt.
There's no real shame in losing to a champion of a higher weight class. Plus, Sean probably improved a lot since that fight, also by having Alex as his sparring partner.
Well, we have a different view of things and what he thinks happened with the fight because he is sure that Israel Adesanya is a well-known strike and amongst the top 5 but as we have seen Sean Strickland has dominated his with just the Philly defense, for sure many didn't understand what has happened or still in shock with the situation, but that is their point of view with things and it was clear that Adesanya has no answer with what is Sean Strickland was doing, he was mesmerized that his striking was taking no effect at all,
Yup, it wasn't luck but we can't deny that part of it had something to do with Adesanya being off. He didn't look sharp that night... Even DDP would've won if he was fighting in the cage. He might have even finished Adesanya.
As for Strickland vs DDP, it's either DDP getting the finish early or Strickland wins late. I'm going for the former. Again... Strickland loves applying pressure on his opponents and DDP will meet him in the middle making the match a total car crash. Can't wait.
