You are right and Atalanta really took advantage of this opportunity, 5 goals can add to Atalanta's total goals, in the standings, even though Atalanta has the same points as Lazio, Atalanta managed to take 5th position because they have more goals. Atalanta is also still competing with AC Milan to get a ticket to the Champions League next season because the two teams are only 1 point apart.
Atalanta have been doing brilliantly this season and I must commend them for a job well done. Scoring many goals in a match is very good as it will help to add to your goals when checking the goal difference when you’re tied in points with a club. Just like Atalanta and Lazio are same points but Atalanta will be ahead of them because of the number of goals he has scored which has supersedes the number of goals they’ve scored him. Atalanta next target is how to get ahead of Fiorentina to take over their place in the league standings, after that, they can now fight for the third position by replacing AC Milan again which i feel is unrealistic for now base on the point gaps.
If you ask the Atalanta team I don't think they would claim for themselves to have performed brilliantly as they have won ten of their games and not won ten of their games. They may not be a top team and that makes the performance a good one, but I don't think they would consider it a brilliant performance as they have had better seasons than that in the past.
