Oh Lord! Even though this was the match I was most looking forward to and I actually fell asleep before the match started. I woke up when in the 88th minute and the score was tied at 2-2. I didn't expect the Madrid Derby to go into extra time again and maybe this would be a tiring match for both teams. Here Atletico had more power to win in extra time because they had more time to rest before heading into this hot derby than Real Madrid and the result was as we saw that Atletico won by scoring two other goals in this round.
Real Madrid's fatigue factor was the cause of this defeat and it was seen that several players did not appear at their best in this match. I saw Carvajal and Bellingham very tired and maybe other players felt this way too. Well, with this result Real Madrid were eliminated from the Copa Del Rey and had to accept the fact that they would not win the treble this season.
It's sometimes beneficial to give the team's younger players, such as Ardar Guler, an opportunity to showcase their abilities. At the end of the game, some real Madrid players were worn out and Ancelotti did not replace them. At times, it seemed as though Ancelotti was coaching the real Madrid team without thinking. I know this sounds harsh, but if we look at the beginning of the game, the players Ancelotti should have started with are not the ones he started with. The game was supposed to begin with Tchoumeni, Modric, not Kroos and Camavinga, Camavinga. He should have substituted Camavinga and Kroos in the second half, as Ancelotti did when Real Madrid defeated Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Supercup. As soon as I see who will start the game, I already know that Atletico Madrid will win because some players aren't supposed to start.
Real Madrid gives it their all in every game, even if they lose and have to play extra time. This will also set an example for real Madrid and the coaches to allow those younger players to play so that the players won't be as worn out. Real Madrid also suffers from not having a player who can score goals; they have many of opportunities to score, but they are unable to take advantage of them. In contrast, Atletico Madrid has players who can score when they have the chance, and that is what wins them the game.
