Some persons always decide to gamble to prevent them to getting too lonely at times. We don't have to choose that part because we can always look for a better way we can deal with loneliness without even thinking of gambling.
I have so many friends that are addicted to gaming and they would not mind playing games everyday just to keep loneliness aside.
There are different things we can do for ourselves that would keep us business if we are less busy without going fully into gambling because we want to deal with loneliness. Gambling is not supposed to be everyday even though we don't have a job. There are times when we can choose to relax and catch some fresh air.
IMO, maybe we can sort out the main cases like in this thread and like what you said in your post. not infrequently, when we feel lonely, we assume we have a lot of free time, are lazy about doing activities and so on. there is no problem, if someone decides to gamble and solve his loneliness. for me personally, there is nothing wrong with that. in fact, sometimes I do. Likewise with other gamblers, what I say can most likely be our shared experience. I mean, for gamblers. well, the problem is, like the case told in this thread. when someone is looking for an outlet for his loneliness, he chooses to gamble. Unfortunately, someone can be lulled and carried away by the atmosphere, which eventually becomes a habit to divert their feelings of loneliness, especially when they are in an unstable psychological condition. In this phase, a person needs moral support, so that he can overcome his loneliness and gamble only according to his portion.
In fact, there is nothing wrong with what you say, but we also have to look at the context. perhaps, someone just wants to spend a few dollars gambling. then, looking for other entertainment after feeling that the gambling session is no longer fun. the point is, try not to gamble when you are in an unstable condition, not try to find a diversion for the chaos that occurs in the problems you are facing, or so on. Well, one example of the impact is like the case OP described in this thread. but when we really need instant entertainment, especially when we are lonely, all of that is fine. the most important thing is to stay focused only on finding entertainment for the loneliness we experience at that time. and never forget, always remember that we have certain limits to end a gambling session if it is no longer entertaining, let alone fun.
