It is not compulsory to do it in that way and i am pretty sure i have seen applications that were posted as links instead of quotes. Personally i would choose links to quotes in this case, as quotes makes the thread large and unreadable, while links would basically take whoever is interested straight to the posts in question. Anyway, OP already edited to the quote format, so that's fine as well.
