If this is a case of my account getting hacked and the hacker trying to send phishing PMs from my account to get it banned, what could be the best way to resolve this quickly ? I can sign a message from my known address here if that could help.
Then prove it.

Check your email where you use in your account. You can also check your IP address whether there's an unknown IP away from your country
https://bitcointalk.org/myips.phpAlso if you didn't limit your IP retention, this will help them to know if you're really got hacked or not.
Limit IP retention:
Reduce the retention of your future logged IP addresses. This will make it far more difficult to recover your account if it is ever stolen; make sure that your email address is correct and that you have staked a public key.
