But I believe that's going to be the problem. If you change your betting/gambling behavior just to win a few hundred dollar, you might lose more than a "few hundred". But it's probably good to play an hour or two extra than your normal schedule during February 1, but without changing your betting behavior in the site. But don't expect anything. 
It will be a problem if we do not know what we are going to do, but we are ready for everything including the worst case then it wont be a problem. That's why strategy and plan is needed in order to participate in special wagering contest like this.
First of all we need to know how many winners will be there and its prize breakdown.
Secondly, we need to have a prediction or calculation on how much we can wager with the money we have.
Thirdly, we need to check the leaderboard and how others are playing to know our possible chance in it.
Last if we think that we can be on the leaderboard, if we think that the reward is worth to try, then we can go but we should not even try if we think otherwise.
