Seeing Leverkusen fail to secure a win against Gladbach is actually starting to indicate a decline in their level of goal productivity and it is quite worrying if next week they still fail to win. Bayern Munich seems to have received advice to win the Bundesliga again if the best scenario is through less than optimal results achieved by Leverkusen. We definitely remember last season where Bayern Munich got lucky when Dortmund was almost certain to win the title and what I'm afraid of is if this season happens again and Leverkusen becomes a stepping stone for Bayern Munich to lift the title.
The game against Gladbach was a bad day for Xabi Alonso and his players. I think Gladbach could never make any problem for Leverkusen and since they could win much stronger teams before this match, I was expecting to see Leverkusen win the game against Gladbach easily. Even after the match, Xabi Alonso said he feels regret of not winning this match because there's now less gap between them and Bayern Munich.
It's actually quite regrettable but I don't think it's as bad as it sounds because after all, Xabi hasn't lost his record yet and that's a good thing in my book.
The situation that occurred was only a draw not a loss although it did hamper them a little in maintaining their gap with Bayern but surely something like this will happen because after all Leverkusen must have experienced several situations like this.
Now it's only 2 points difference between them and Bayern but of course it's not a problem if they can be more consistent in future matches it's just that with a busy schedule and a scheme that is starting to be read, this could also backfire for Xabi in maintaining his position in the Bundesliga this time.
Bayern always have a way to get closer so Leverkusen must be better prepared for that.
