Bayern Leverkusen had a draw in their last game with Bayern Munich having a narrow win against Augsburg, it would reduce the point difference. Bayern Munich are really catching up and it would be a disaster if the league leaders (Bayern Leverkusen) drop out in this title race because many football lovers have tipped them (Bayern Leverkusen) to win the league this season.
Is just two points that's separating both teams and I feel the pressure is going to be on Leverkusen, they're now going to be in a hurry to first get a goal to win any of their games and their style of play might change. I just hope Alonso will be calm and also tell the to play as if they have no one coming to over take them in the league table and if they do so I think they're certain of 3pts in every game, the absence of Victor Boniface is also affecting them.
A two point lead over Bayern Munich is very unsafe for Bayer Leverkusen because the two teams will meet in Week 21 on 11 February. The only problem Bayer Leverkusen faced when facing Borussia Monchengladbach was their lack of clinical skills in completing opportunities, of course this problem is a weakness that must be resolved before they face Bayern Munich at BayArena.

Bayer had 28 chances, whilest Borussia Monchengladbach had 6. This alone shows how one-sided the match was and Leverkusen should have win. They had a lot of clear chances. Their main striker Boniface is injured, so they contracted Borja Iglesias two days ago who will be in the squad for the next game.
That's a lot of opportunities in one match but Leverkusen were also not so lucky considering the Gladbach goalkeeper's performance was also very good. He can always thwart Leverkusen's opportunities and protect his goal from being conceded. Maybe the absence of Boniface, who is still injured, makes their attack line weak and Leverkusen doesn't have a striker with finishing as good as him.

Borja Iglesias is only on loan until the end of the season and in fact he is quite old as a Leverkusen striker and this is only an emergency transfer made by Xabi Alonso to complete their attacking line options. If we look at Borja Iglesias' statistics so far with Real Betis, he has appeared in 11 matches but has not recorded a single goal and maybe if you look at Xabi Alonso's vision as a coach, he can develop this player to what the team needs.
