Roma did not dominate the match and Salernitana created more opportunities than Roma in the first half. Roma luckily got a penalty and Dybala converted it to a first goal for them. A second goal seems to help Roma to secure 3 points but they let Salernitana found one goal and after that they even faced with an equalizer from Salernitana.
Roma won but it is not an impressive and dominating match from Roma but 3 points are good for them to move forwards with positive sentiment and continue to race with some other clubs.
You're right; I also think that Roma was fortunate to win the match because, in my opinion, Roma didn't play well. If Saranatana had been a formidable opponent, Roma would not have been able to win the match yesterday. Furthermore, I have never thought that Roma's performance has improved since they hired a new coach; they still need more players. Roma has played two games under the new coach, and those games haven't convinced me that they can play well again. To demonstrate that they have a capable coach and can lead them to a good spot in the league table, Roma should perform well and play a match against formidable opponents like Juventus or Inter.
Even though Roma moved up to the 7 or 6 spot and then back to the 5 spot, that doesn't convince me that Roma is good right now. If you look at yesterday's match, you'll also believe that Roma will have a very difficult time defeating a tough opponent because of the way the salartana take the match seriously.The game is really close at the end, and while I hope Roma can keep up its strong play, I also think they should add more players.
