Once again, Leverkusen proved that they are an unbeatable team this season and the 0-2 win away from home against Darmstadt meant that Leverkusen continued to maintain the point difference from Bayern Munich. Xabi Alonso seemed to never run out of ideas to win and therefore Leverkusen won convincingly. The absence of Victor Boniface did not make it difficult for them to adapt to the new rotation and Iglesias, who only arrived this winter as a second-string striker, played quite well even though he had not scored a goal in his debut match.

Leverkusen's two winning goals were scored by Tella and even though he replaced Frimpong on the right wing, the results were very satisfying. This proves that Leverkusen's depth does not only depend on a few key players and that when needed to score a goal, players in any position can do it.
