And I want to know, what are you going to do.
Aren't you going to give the bad guy your wallet address, and you let him get killed. However, your Bitcoins remain safe because you have given your wallet address to someone you trust.
Or you will give it away because you still want to live, and you don't have any more Bitcoins.
And it was just a casual conversation with a friend of mine who both owns Bitcoin, and I was just wondering what other people's answers to this dreaded question made me want to create a thread.
I am not sure if this should be a specific question for bitcoins or could be looked at in general for anybody that has money. Let's assume you have a safe at home with a lot of cash, gold or even art in it. All of that would make you very attractive for criminals to try and steal that money of you. Bitcoin is just one type of wealth we have and how far should be go and protect it? For me my health is more important than any money. What good does it do for us being rich, when we are dead or so sick that we can't enjoy our money? Depending on the kidnapping situation I would very likely give them my money. To often I tread stories where people tried to fight off criminals only to get killed in the process. We can always make more money later, but our health we might never get back. Also there is always the chance that the police will catch the kidnappers later and might recover some of our money. So, better not too tell strangers or people we don't trust how much money we have and where it's invested. There is no benefit from sharing all those information publicly and can only lead to problems for us in the long run.
