I'm not sure if everyone paid enough attention to this game or not but other than the result of this match. Diego Simeone made a funny move in this math. When Luka Modrić was about to enter the field and play for Real Madrid in this game, Simeone blanked his eyes and he said Modrić to come to play for them In Atletico Madrid. Maybe Simeone was serious and Modrić can even play for Atletico Madrid soon.
I don’t know for sure, but I think there was some other reason behind Simeone’s actions. Modric is already too old to move from Real Madrid (where he is already a de facto rotation player) to another competitive club. Most likely, he will either go to Saudi Arabia or retire after this season.
By the way, it would be funny if Modric also laughed while looking at Simeone - in principle, Simeone is the same dinosaur, and his time at Atlético has already exceeded all limits.
I am not sure if this is serious or even true, to be honest. But if the coach has actually said that, it might mean a lot of things. But realistically, Modric is not going to go to a competitive club now in my opinion. I think it will be better for him to actually be in the Saudi League after this. He will be able to get a lot of money and that will be a good retirement fund for him. I am sure nobody is going to say no to a very good amount of retirement money. Unless he is planning to stay longer in Real Madrid.
