Modric has rejected the chance to move to Saudi league, right? As far as I know, Modric has no interest to join SPL, he doesn't want to follow Ronaldo and Benzema. There is a rumor that Modric will stay with Real Madrid, he will extend his contract with Real Madrid for another year. I don't know whether it is true or not, but Modric is already 38 years old and will be 39 this year. Real Madrid rarely extends a contract for 38 years old player like Modric although Modric still can play quite well. Moreover, Real Madrid has many good midfielders now, they must prefer to give more time to play for younger midfielders. So, I still doubt if Ancelotti still has the intention to extend his contract.

Seeing some players quiting the Saudi Professional League, I doubt Modric will join that league despite high wage being offered. Ancelotti has stated that his future remains in his own hand. He's nearing the latter stages of his career at 38 years old, but age alone doesn't necessarily dictate a player's value or their ability to contribute effectively to the team. Modric has demonstrated his skill and importance to the squad over the years, and his performance on the field still remains commendable.

Real Madrid's decision to extend contracts for older players depends on various factors, including their contributions to the team, their physical condition, and the club's overall strategy. While it's true that Real Madrid has a talented pool of midfielders, Modric's experience and leadership qualities could still make him a valuable asset, even if his playing time may be managed differently to accommodate younger talents.
