Yes, I agree. $2500 is not going very far if you wanna buy actual property in most places these days.  But there's other ways to get into real estate besides just buying a house or apartment yourself and  you can do crowdfunding platforms where a bunch of investors pool their money together.  Or REITs - those let regular people basically own shares of big commercial properties and stuff. 
i wonder whats the risk of pooling money to buy apartment like that, i guess crowdfunding like that is managed by the platform itself that did the crowdfunding and they definitely gonna charge for their service through that means, maybe the ROI gonna be long but im kinda curious since im interested a bit with these pooling money for crowdfunding like this since we know if its crowdfunded loan the risk is the debtor refuse to pay or unable to pay then we are losing money i can roughly guess that maybe the risk with such crowdfunding of buying property might be on the fact that there will be lack of renters.
but overall its really good opportunity for the small guy to at least get the advantage of that stability of renting property as an investment.
