The several hrs wait seems like a hassle, do I have to click sync?

Exodus receive address appears without having to click sync and wait needlessly around for several hrs. I am confused is it mandotry to click sync or should I ignore it?
Is this exodus a HD (Hierarchical Deterministic) wallets as I need the capability to generate new addresses for both receiving and sending transactions.

I'm still deciding on a second desktop wallet that's HD (Hierarchical Deterministic)  for monero and btc. Which way should I go. I have Electrum for btc and Exodus for alt like xmr would there be benefit in getting one more hd?
