I think the German league, or Bundesliga, is not just a farmer's league. The evidence is that other teams can become champions and compete fiercely against Bayern Munchen. For instance, this season, Bayer Leverkusen has been incredibly strong and capable of leading the standings with a 5-point difference from Bayern Munchen. This differs from the French Ligue 1, where PSG is highly dominant, both financially and in terms of squad quality, as well as consistently leaving their rivals far behind in the league table.
Since Dortmund last won the Bundesliga trophy in the 2011-12 season, Bayern Munich has always dominated by becoming champions in the last 11 seasons. Last season, Dortmund almost broke Munich's dominance, due to mistakes made in the last game, Dortmund had to settle for being runners up.
This season Munich is starting to get stronger competitors, they have also just been beaten with a score of 3-0. I hope that Xabi Alonso can continue to stay with Leverkusen for the next few seasons to make the Bundesliga more competitive than the previous few seasons.
