It's not enough to "know when to stop." The true issue is applying knowledge. How? Set clear, non-negotiable guidelines for yourself. It's about developing a system where stopping is automated rather than a last-minute decision. This demands self-awareness and discipline that many underestimate. Gambling should be fun, not required. The stakes are understood by those who treat it as such. Though difficult to stomach, it's the cure for gambling addiction
Knowing when to stop means that the gambler is experienced enough and may not be losing much money (although there can be no gambler who never loses money). However, most gamblers will not know "How" to stop and this only comes when you have a full control over your mind and you are well aware of your doings. Gambling involves real money and hence the gambler should be fully devoted to gambling and serious, but mostly we see the gamblers lightly take gambling and hence they lose more in this.
In my opinion, it often happens because they are thirsty for victory so that the victory they have got cannot make them satisfied, they are still thirsty for a bigger victory so they can take very risky actions, although it is the right of each but at least with the many cases of large losses in gambling we must be able to gamble wisely. smart in managing everything in order to avoid large losses including by stopping gambling after winning, or after losing.
Should not the gamblers should define the victory? Keep the victory definition and goals wide open, will keep the gamblers going on for more and more play and this thirst of gaining all the money today will make them lose money and nothing else. Gambling requires discipline and most gamblers aren't aware of it. They will keep on losing in gambling but never performee the root cause analysis of the reason why they lose in gambling.
Winning big in gambling may be very important in gambling but saving capital in this , may be even more important in this business. Gamblers needs to realize this.
