It's only natural that Bundesliga football observers turn their attention to Bayern Munich and Leverkusen because both of them are competing quite closely for the title this season. Surprisingly, Leverkusen was not a strong challenger to Bayern Munich in previous seasons, so the arrival of Xabi Alonso changed everything and now they are the only club whose consistency is much more stable than Bayern Munich, which always dominates the Bundesliga.
Bayern Leverkusen's performance this season surprised many of us because we didn't expect them to be this good after how they played in the previous Bundesliga season. Last season, they did not even qualify for the Champions League. They are the most talked-about team this season, along with Bayern Munich, because they are the only team capable of competing with Bayern and making it extremely difficult for them to win the Bundesliga as they do every year. They are still unsure whether they can achieve that after Bayern Leverkusen defeated them in their most recent meeting, extending their point lead in the standings.
Dortmund are increasingly losing their best ability to compete because this season has been inconsistent and they have not shown themselves to be a club that has the opportunity to win the Bundesliga title. Even though they are currently in the top three of the standings, they have no chance of competing with Bayern Munich or Leverkusen.
Dortmund are nowhere near winning the Bundesliga this season. They have always given Bayern a difficult time, but their inconsistency this season has prevented them from getting close to Bayern, let alone Leverkusen, who have been playing exceptionally well. They can still qualify for the Champions League, but they are very much unlikely to win the Bundesliga this season.
