I think you need to check the definition for "scam". Because it's just a new acronym for rather old concept, Filecoin for example is from 2017, so who exactly is scamming by describing something with an acronym? Or how is that concept a scam?

One could argue if it's needed at all, and that it's pointless, unnecessary, slow, not cost efficient, complex and borderline illegal. Now it could get better, but i would ask that to whom this tech it for, and how free market with private services isn't enough? Or decentralized free network like with torrents?

But if you call tech that can't compete with current existing systems a scam, then the majority of altcoins in top marketcap are scams.
