There are p2p options like the longstanding Localmonero, Bisq, and Haveno project seems to be finally getting off the ground.

Monero seems like it's underperforming for the amount of community, development, and infrastructure it has, but given Coinbase ignoring forever and now Binance delisting (and both of them promoting shittokens like Shib and far worse), it is what it is I guess. I don't think Monero is dead though, far from it.
