Any addiction has negative consequences for a person, but we are so organized that we always want more. This is what leads to problems. In my opinion, to learn how to get rid of addictions, you just need to learn to limit your desires. And to do this is actually not so difficult. I got rid of several addictions and right now I am in a struggle with myself and the desire to eat sweets, because of which my daily norm of energy value is significantly exceeded. A person is capable of a lot of things, if only the desire.

I am sure that if I had a problem with gambling, I would be able to overcome this addiction.
Well, there would be no addiction in the world if everyone were able to overcome their addictions so easily, however, that's not how it is with everyone. It requires a lot of patience and self-control for someone to be able to limit their desires or to not give up against the urges to do certain things that they like to do or are addicted to, and most human beings don't have enough self-control to be able to do that.

This is the biggest reason why so many people lose so much money in gambling because they can't control the urge to gamble and can't stop when they need to, and this leads them to bankruptcy and losing of all the assets they have simply because they don't know how they can limit the urge or have enough self-control to get out of that moment.
Overcoming gambling addiction is not an easy thing. If it is easy not many people experience gambling addiction because to stop this, they need a strong urge within themselves to stop and limit their gambling because this requires self-control and reducing it little by little. This requires time and patience for addicts, but they have to fight if they really want to stop. Don't just talk nonsense but not make any changes to stop it, because if they are determined their desires will soon come true.

Not being able to control yourself will indeed make someone experience big losses because they continue to gamble, the only reason that can make them stop is intention and determination. If they have the intention then the urge to limit themselves can become a rule that will be obeyed, it becomes can control oneself not to gamble continuously and this can slowly overcome the addiction.
