Did you know that Man City has won the Premier League trophy 5 times in the last 6 years?  Man City know very well what kind of performance they need to apply at any given time. and they play very seriously in every match. no matter how much Liverpool occupies the 1st position in the points table. I think Man City have a chance to lift the trophy this year as per my prediction. Yes their opponent Brentford played well enough in today's match but with Man City's performance they couldn't defend themselves in the second half.
It's because Manchester City has an unlimited funds to buy dreams manager and player, while in Liverpool the owner is stingy, even though they sign a good manager, but they didn't give funds to buy dreams player.

If Liverpool give as much as Manchester City did, Liverpool will become very strong rival and they might able to win many many trophies.
This doesn't always happen, though. Look at another Manchester team. United is one of the most generous teams in this regard. They also pay high transfer fees, but they cannot get the output they want from the players. That's why the most important thing is not just to spend the money, but to spend the right money to the right person. That's why I think Liverpool can build the best squad by not only spending money but also by recruiting good scouts and the right players.
Another example is Chelsea who have a fairly high budget in the transfer market but they don't get players who can really make their team improve. Meanwhile, Man United is a rich club. But their spending budget in the transfer market last season was quite limited. That's why ten Hag couldn't buy the players he was actually after. And he only bought alternative players that he could still reach with the remaining money. Man City is different because this club is very generous when it comes to spending budgets in the transfer market. But still, aren't there also limits on spending budget regulations in the transfer market?

So even very rich clubs still have certain limitations and cannot always buy with the unlimited budget they have.
