Of course Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen are the main candidates for the title this season. But Milan can probably do well too, they played well in the qualifiers. I also like Sporting Lisbon, who also did well. I think this Europa League season could easily be a surprise. It could happen that for example Bayer and Liverpool meet before the final.
There are many strong teams in the Europa League this season so there will definitely be interesting surprises before the final if they can all meet each other early. But for now I prefer Liverpool to become champions in the European League this season because the team has also proven itself in the Premier League so far where Liverpool is still at the top of the standings. However, if Leverkusen can succeed in the Europa League it won't be so bad because in the Bundesliga Leverkusen is also very good this season.
I think Bayern Leverkusen will direct most of their energy on the bundesLiga because if they actually succeed it would be one hell of an achievement because it's been long that any team different win their league and that's why Bayern Leverkusen are very focus in their league and they are also doing well too because they have maintained their first position for sometime now.
Are you convinced that these clubs are trying to find the right dosage for each competition and allocate their resources according an agenda as you say? There is this horde of top professionals and a coach named Xabi Alonso who won it all, and you think that he will go to his players and say "we will play only 90% capacity in the Europa League, but 100% capacity in the Bundesliga and 95% in the DFB Pokal because the Bundesliga is the most important title".
LOL. If you think that you are delusional. These guys are on the brink of winning it all. Their chances to win the DFB Pokal are huge, to win the Bundesliga are huge, and what could be better to finish the season other than having a UEFA competition final to once and for all write history? There is no possible way that they would allocate their resources primarily to the Bundesliga at the cost of playing worse in the Europe League or DFB Pokal. No chance and I am not sure where you heard about that. Every competition is a priority for them in the moment the games are taking place.
