In my city we have some electronic shops that offer the same type of products and slightly different prices and the stores look different, but both are owned by the same company. Whatever the consumer chooses, he will end up in one of the two stores and the company gets 100% of the business. As for gambling in my country, it's highly regulated and there isn't much option to create your own business. Lotteries are only owned by the state, there can't be private lotteries for profit, the only option is to run a lottery for a good cause. As for casino, they need a licence that is hard to get and there will usually only be one casino per city. The only real option here would be sports betting, but there is already one large company having tons of stores in all the majority city. It will be hard for a family to start competiting here.
