Real Madrid gained 3 points in this match which strengthened their number one position in the points table. The points gap created by the second-placed team in the points table with Real Madrid will be very difficult for Barcelona to close at this point of the season.
Real Madrid could win that match in a more easily way but the match belongs to Luka Modric. He was not used too much by Carlo Ancelotti in this season and is not happy but when he is in, he contributes his best for Real Madrid. Not many midfielders can have enough calm to handle that situation and can make such a shot.
This goal shows his value for Real Madrid even just as an alternative player but I believe he will leave Real Madrid after this season and find another club for very last chapter and seasons in his career.
I wasn't really happy with Real Madrid's victory when they won against Sevilla, even though my bet won and I was also willing to let Madrid collect points again to stay at the top of the standings.
However, the goal that was scored was a single goal, which made me think that it was very difficult for Real Madrid to produce goals, Modric was the only goal that Ancelotti should be grateful for as a sign of Real Madrid's victory. Previously I hoped that Real Madrid could collect 2/3 goals. in the match against Sevilla but in fact Madrid was quite difficult.
They created opportunities but lacked of accuracy in their shots but finally they got Luka Modric who is counting down his time in Real Madrid. He scored a magnificent goal for Real Madrid and helped them to have three points. These points mean a lot for Real Madrid to maintain their position in La Liga and in a long run it will help them in Champions League too.
If they continue to have good differences against Girona and below clubs in La Liga, they will be more free to focus on Champions League.
