Okay that suspicion was rather odd. I honestly wouldn't consider it as something that faults gamblers (or addicts more specifically), probably just a really bad experience by the husband when loaning money to others. While I do think giving out a loan to someone can be bad, at least that's what I think so since I avidly try to avoid giving out loans, there's no particular reason to be THAT specific for a reason unless there's some context behind it, so yea, I believe the husband had some problems, particularly him or someone close to him related to gambling and loans.

As for gambling being more prevalent to males, well, it is a fact that the majority of the gamblers out there are males so it isn't really that odd for addicts to be males.
