It's more like an in between mid-table and top-table team. They are not quite top-table for sure, but mid-table might be a bit ignorant of their performance. I know it is tough to label them correctly because teams like Chelsea and Newcastle are underperforming and therefore it looks weird when you call a team a mid-table team that is actually ahead of Chelsea and Newcastle. But I think it would be more proper to put them in between two categories.
