Their domination started to be challenged more by competitors in the last season and they nearly lost Bundesliga to Dortmund. They won it very luckily by a late goal from Musiala and with a bad draw from Dortmund in a final match day of 2022- 2023 season.
In this season, the trend continues and it even becomes worse. Bayern Munich are competing with Leverkusen that have better stability than Dortmund in the last season and with eight points more than Bayern Munich, Leverkusen temporarily have very good gap to secure their first position. They have better chance than Dortmund to beat Bayern Munich and win Bundesliga.
That means Bayern Munich is still one of the best teams in the Bundesliga despite the championship they won last season because Dortmund missed out on a win in their last game. This season everything changed because Leverkusen challenged Bayern Munich in a much more convincing competition with Bayern Munich being several points behind Leverkusen. The difference now to last season is very clear and today we saw Leverkusen show their ability to compete.
The League competition must be as interesting as it is now and everyone hopes for a competitive fight for the title because if only one team dominates the league it will not be interesting. I hope Leverkusen can survive until the end of the season and Bayern Munich's dominance will no longer be as great as in previous seasons.
Bayern Munich is still the best club in the Bundesliga even though its performance this season is not as optimal as the previous seasons, but Bayern Munich's position is still at the top so we cannot just underestimate Bayern Munich. Indeed this season's competition is very difficult for Bayern Munich because of Leverkusen's performance which is difficult to overthrow and its consistency to date has made it difficult for Bayern Munich to be at the top of the standings. Even Dortmund were the only ones who competed with Bayern Munich last season for the title, now their position is decreasing because Stuttgart is blocking Dortmund from being in the top 3 currently appearing as impressive as Leverkusen.
Of course this will be even more interesting because if the league competition is not very competitive then the league will look boring and not very interesting, like the previous seasons where Bayern Munich always dominated the league title so that the competition was not so competitive and boring, now Leverkusen is the differentiator and it is hoped that can break the dominance of Bayern Munich and Stuttgart and also break the dominance of big clubs that are always at the top such as Dortmund and Leipzig, thereby making the Bundesliga more competitive.
