Casemiro propelled Manchester United into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. The captain assisted, and the vice-captain scored, helping Man United avoid another setback from losing to Fulham. Now, they're set to take on Liverpool in the FA Cup quarterfinals.
Man United handled the Forest match like any other game, and they need to prove themselves once more. however, it won't be an easy victory for Liverpool, especially after their struggle against Southampton's defense. Despite facing an injury crisis, both teams have showcased impressive performances, particularly with players from the academy stepping up. However, with the way things are going, I'm concerned Klopp might start recruiting from Liverpool's kitchen staff for their match against Manchester United.
Manchester United's front line did not work well throughout this match so Casemiro came to be the hero for Manchester United's narrow victory.
And to face Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, I think it will be very difficult for Man United and even the percentage that Man United can beat Liverpool is quite small. I see this realistically from the strength of the two teams and also the consistency of both teams throughout this season.
Manchester United who lost to Fulham last weekend actually struggled in their English FA Cup game against Nottingham Forest last night and had to rely on Casemiro's 89th minute goal to progress to the quarter finals of the competition where they'll face English Premier League leaders Liverpool. Before their defeat to Fulham last weekend, Manchester United were on a good run of form which I think the impressive results were caused by how impressive and prolific their Danish striker Rasmund Hojlund was at the moment. However, he picked up an injury that's sidelined him until further notice and that I think is the reason why they've been struggling to score goals in their last two games. The club manager Erik ten Hag must find a way to make his team break through defenses and score goals that'll help them win games even in the absence of Rasmund Hojlund who's the club's top scorer this season.
Manchester United who'll face Liverpool in the next round of the English FA Cup will play against Manchester City in the English Premier League on Sunday at the Etihad stadium which is the home of the English champions. The game will be a very crucial game for both teams but I think the home team needs the three points more that the away team because Manchester City are trying to win the English Premier League title for the fourth time in a row but are currently a point behind league leaders Liverpool while the away team Manchester United will be hunting for the three points to increase the team's possiblity of finishing the season in the top four of the league table. Many people including bookmakers are already backing Manchester City to win that particular game which I think is absolutely fair considering the performance of both teams since the start of the season. Personally I'll be banking on Pep Guardiola's Manchester City to win the game but if Manchester United can put out a great performance on Sunday, they might just get a good result on that game so I'll be betting on a Manchester City win or draw in that game
