Yes it is all about money, and Newcastle is not in the groups of richest clubs in Premier League.It was £30m deal and Al-Ahli is owned by Saudi Public Investment Fund, that holds 80% stake in Newcastle.
If it was about the money, they paid more to get Sven Botman from Lille, Anthony Gordon cost way more, while they paid twice as much of that to land Alexander Isak, and also paid 30 million Euros for Chris Wood about 2 seasons ago, although the sale of maximin was a profitable deal for Newcastle as they only got him for about 18 million or thereabout from Nice. I just don't think the deal was solely a monetary motivated deal for Newcastle.
