Based on stats alone, Madrid seems to be more dominant, don't they? Other than the scoreline, the match didn't feel as one-sided as you make it out to be, CMIIW. I think this is just a classic reason, stats alone won't win you thing if you fail to score a goal. Madrid had 17 shots iirc, but Bilbao managed to stop them to convert them into goals. It is unfair to judge them harshly considering other teams also have freak results sometimes. Not to mention this is a cup tie where a team that usually sits outside of the Europe qualifier in the league tends to have more motivation since it is one of their best chance to win something.
