Girona dropped 11 points in the last 5 games and they are still ranked 2nd. On the one hand, this shows that they have obviously been doing very well during the early and mid season, but it also shows how bad Barcelona is this season and Atletico Madrid as well.

But I doubt that Girona will give away the Champions League qualification. It is still a 9 points gap between them and 5th position, so a lot of bad results would have to follow in order for Girona to drop out of the top 4. It. doesn't look all that realistic to me although of course, if they continue this trend, then this could end in a last minute mess up.

But so far the teams behind Girona frequently drop points as well. There is no perfect team among the top six teams at the moment. All of them are dropping points here and there and I would like to see a new team join the Champions league. It is time for a trend reversal for them. Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are still waiting to play against Girona. It could be a close call in the end.
