Hi community,

As with any addiction, the effects of addiction to games of chance and betting do not fall on the gambler alone. It affects the family, friends, relatives, and everyone around him, and may lead to the deterioration of their conditions.
Sure, gambling addiction doesn’t affect only the gambler, it has negative impacts on people close to them. Money that’s supposed to be spent on family members, addicted gamblers will end up spending the money that is supposed to be spent on their family members on gambling, leaving them suffering, most of them don’t even provide for the family. The money that is supposed to be used to provide food items for their family members will end up being used for gambling. Some of them do sell their properties, like houses and other valuable things, leaving their family members homeless and suffering.

Gambling and accumulated debts  lead the gambler to a moral collapse that may even amount to an existential threat to family members.
Most addicted gamblers are in debt because they have no money left to gamble with, so they end up taking loans just to keep on gambling, hoping to hit a jackpot so that they will be able to repay the loan that they took, but they do end up losing everything, and they won’t have any way to pay back the loan that they took.
