I wouldn't be too sure about the assumption that Napoli is out of business for the top four.
Napoli are not out of business in top four race yet. They are only 8 points less than Bologna and because it is Bologna, Napoli still have good chance. Bologna have good defense but their attacking power is not too good that can cause them to lose point when they fail to score winning goals.
I believe a biggest competitor of Napoli in this race will be Roma which have more experience in top four racing and Roma are on fire with De Rossi too.
Now for Napoli the job is a good bit harder I admit. But I think that they are still in distance to strike back and to make up for some points if they can win some games in a row. So nothing is over yet for them and by the way they are still in the Champions League. The first game didn't look all too promising, but let's see.
Napoli have a hard task to complete but with more than 10 matches till the season ending, 8 points less than Bologna will not be impossible to equalize. Napoli have been showing their recovery and return to good form recent matches. Their main challenge from now is to maintain their own good performances, then their chance to catch top four will become bigger match by match. Bologna and Roma will surely lose points so the main task for Napoli is to play well enough to take advantage of dropped points from competitors.
I think Napoli missed a big chance this weekend as Bologna lost their game and Napoli dropped two important points in the fight for the top four positions. It's 7 points now, but this shouldn't have happened. It would make a huge difference if it were only 5 points instead of 7 points. 10 games are left to be played and Napoli isn't stable at the moment.
Well said, Napoli missed the match against Torino. I'm not going to count it because getting one point is nothing. Because the gap between the competitors are small, the club should be able acquire another three points. It's disappointing to see Napoli miss so many opportunities in the game against torino. The club is missing out on full points against Torino, a mediocre team and that's hardly to accept how napoli bottled it.
It was amazing to see Torino work so hard to prevent Napoli from acquiring three points. Napoli must be able to improve its performance in order to qualify for the Europa League, which would be the club's least impressive achievement this season consider it's not possible anymore for napoli to get into the UCL if it kept perform like shit. Things aren't going so well with the new coach when many fans expected more from him.
Under de Rossi, Roma has won games on a consistent basis, and the club could compete for a UCL spot this season. Calzona, a former Spalletti assistant, is not improving Napoli's performance. Things are changing even faster than before. There are numerous activities that the club must undertake. Napoli will not pass up another opportunity to win the game soon. Napoli continues to play inconsistently, making it even more difficult for the club to enter the UCL because its competitors can also consistently win three points. So far so good for roma, the club may able to surpass bologna and qualify for UCL next season.
