Girona's surprising rise to second is a fantasy. Being in the Champions League would be a huge accomplishment given their preseason expectations. I think Girona should focus on La Liga as their counterparts play various competitions. This may be their path to the top four. You have to admire their perseverance.

This is a truly extraordinary achievement and I have huge respect for Girona for their outstanding performance this season. I hope they can maintain their position and finish as runners-up in La Liga. They will play in the Champions League next season. Club management must work hard to build the club to be better and more solid next season. They will compete in the Champions League and therefore they really need several new players to rotate in every match. I saw Girona performing well at the start of the season but they lacked squad depth so they lost a lot in the second half of the season.
