I was having high hopes of seeing Atletico madrid took down Inter Milan in this round, but after seeing the first game and the lasts games played by the Atletico Madrid is being more and more difficult to see it happening.

They are not playing good in LaLiga also.
La Liga teams comes for the UEFA Champions League title but they're not getting it because the promising clubs are yet to be decided. Don't ever place your trust on these elite teams because the results they eventually generate appears to be inconsistent and confusing most times. For illustration, the exact scenario of Atletico Madrid, they won Real Betis 2-1 and lost to Cadiz 2-0 which is very confusing result. An elite team will not always be in good form this season, rather there are many more actions to be triggered with these teams.
Among the La Liga clubs, Real Madrid and Barcelona have not fared very well in the Champions League, apart from the two teams that are definitely eligible for the Champions League. If we talk about Atlético Madrid, then I will say that this team's record in the Champions League is not very good. Real Madrid has won the most number of Champions League trophies from La Liga so far and this team is one of the favorites to win the Champions League trophy in the current season as well. It is certainly a failure for Barcelona that they have not won the Champions League trophy in the last few seasons. There was a time when Barcelona and Real Madrid used to compete in tournaments like the Champions League and the competition we still remember but we don't see anymore. Real Madrid are in the same position, but Barcelona have dropped far below their position.
I miss when Barcelona and Real Madrid were Champions League titans with Messi and Ronaldo, nearly untouchable. Real Madrid seems to be retaining part of its glory due to their savvy signings. However, Barcelona's condition saddens me. They're floundering without Messi, and their financial troubles have shackled them, making it hard to recover

I think Real Madrid can win the Champions League if they play their cards well. Barcelona has a long road ahead. They need a miracle or a huge investment to recover. The key is clever planning and team spirit, not just signing players. In the Champions League, Atlético Madrid must compete with Inter Milan and others
When Barcelona was a complete team with Messi and Neymar, we saw Barcelona win the Champions League match from five goals down. Barcelona's past and present have no similarities. I still miss the El Clasico matches that used to be between Barcelona and Real Madrid and no matter how many times I watch Barcelona and Real Madrid matches these days, the excitement never works. Earlier, watching Barcelona and Real Madrid play, it seemed that these two teams were arch-enemies and that they did not speak to anyone during the game and the fight, but now that is not the case. We have to accept it because we have no choice but to accept it.
