Just a year and a half ago, he already extended his contract with the club (until 2027), now it is obvious that he has turned into a top player and City wants to sign him with an obviously longer contract and a larger compensation amount. This probably won’t be difficult to do, since Foden has been a City fan since childhood and is as loyal as possible, but if I were him, I wouldn’t be in much of a hurry, since there are still 3 years ahead - why rush? Plus, he's already won everything he could with City, so maybe it's worth leaving some room for maneuver.

You have a good point there as well. Considering his current contract still has three more years to expire there isn't any need to be in a hurry to sign another shortly.

Besides he should think about the possibility of Guardiola's departure in the future as well. We all know Guardiola built this squad according to his system completely. In case of his decision to leave just like Klopp has done next manager choice will be really important for Manchester City. If they can't bring a manager who will continue with a similar system then things can get really interesting. However I assume they would think of bringing Arteta in that case who was already Guardiola's assistant before.  Smiley
Phil Foden doesn't need to be too hasty because his contract is still quite long, even though he is also very happy and comfortable at Manchester City, but no one knows the future, who knows, he might want to explore other big clubs to increase his experience in different leagues, because of his current age still 23 years old if his contract at Manchester City still has 3 more years to automatically complete it Foden is still 26 years old and he still has the opportunity to explore other clubs. But in fact if he doesn't move and remains in the Premier League it will actually make his future bright if the club continues to impress and his abilities at Manchester City are also improving well, so this will benefit the club and also him.

Yes, Manchester City also have to think about that because Pep Guardiola's contract for next season has expired so Manchester City has to decide now, not just think about players who still have a long period of time to extend their contracts. I think it would be better if Manchester City extended Pep Guardiola's contract because this choach has built a very good squad. Now if Manchester City makes the decision to change coaches, it is not certain that the new coach will be able to build a squad as good as Pep Guardiola. Talking about Mikel Arteta, coincidentally the coach's contract also expires next season, but I don't know yet there is no clarity between Arsenal and Manchester City whether they still want to extend their contract or not or even swap places Grin
