A difference of 7 to 8 points is indeed difficult for Barcelona and Girona to catch up, especially if Madrid consistently plays on a winning path, perhaps there will be no chance for both of them and Madrid will have to give up winning the Laliga title this season, at least Barcelona and Girona will finish as the top four in Laliga this season. At least this season, both of them have played optimally and shown their best game to date, even though there are still several matches remaining. Expecting Madrid to experience several defeats in the next few matches is also very difficult.

Barcelona will still have difficulty catching them, let alone Girona, Madrid has the opportunity to win the Laliga title this season as well as the UCL this season, although perhaps the UCL is a tough job but they have that opportunity with a good main squad at the moment which makes them the best club. Ancelotti has of course targeted the title this season and it seems he is quite serious about this hunt by directing his team to play consistently and stay on the winning track and avoid many unnecessary defeats that will cause them to lose points.
It is very likely that Real Madrid will continue to be consistent in the remaining matches ahead, so that the points gap that has currently formed will be difficult for Girona and Barcelona to close. One of the important matches that could trouble Ancelotti squad is against Barcelona. Apart from the El Clasico match, I think Madrid will continue to progress in other matches. So far Real Madrid has only experienced one defeat against Atletico, no other contestants have been able to beat them. Even though they had difficulty winning in the previous few matches, beating Celta Vigo 4-0 was a sign that they were in their best form again.

Real Madrid is very close to the championship trophy this season, Ancelotti managed to survive various pressures even though his squad had lost several key players due to injury. Girona and Barcelona will most likely finish in the top four, regardless of second or third. In essence, the two clubs will still have difficulty overtaking Real Madrid in the future, even though they continue to be consistent, this does not necessarily mean that Real Madrid will experience setbacks.
