If we talk about possibilities, it really doesn't need to be said now because there are still several matches that all teams have to play, but are you sure that Real Madrid will lose in a row in the next 7 or 8 matches this season? I'm not really sure about that because the quality of Barcelona's players this season is actually not that good and there are still many shortcomings that Xavi needs to fix. Winning in the Champions League when hosting a bad team like Napoli is a very normal thing in my opinion because I am not sure Barcelona can last long in the Champions League this season.
It doesn't matter if you still believe Barcelona can compete with Real Madrid for the title but for me, I'm fully convinced and would say that Real Madrid are already assured of the La Liga trophy this season. It doesn't matter if Barcelona manage to improve their performance because after all, an 8-point gap is not a close point gap so it will obviously be difficult for Barcelona to catch Real Madrid or maybe, very unlikely. Because after all, Real Madrid is basically a team with above-average quality and thus, Real Madrid will certainly be able to consistently get good results in the remaining matches remaining until the end of the season. Saying or hoping Barcelona wins the title this season, I think it's just like an empty hope because it's impossible to happen.
Retaining the La Liga title is not impossible for Barcelona, but I admit that their chances are getting lower. Real Madrid is much more consistent than Barcelona and that is the reason why Barcelona is having difficulty competing in La Liga this season. If Real Madrid loses points in several matches in the remaining season and Barcelona is able to take advantage of it well, then the title competition between Barcelona and Real Madrid will happen again. It's not impossible, but it's difficult.
However, I tend to agree that Real Madrid deserved to win the La Liga title this season after they performed well from the start of the season. Barcelona is struggling with its squad and finances, so it would be a shame if Real Madrid failed to win the title this season and let Barcelona defend it.
