It's unfortunate that Girona dropped more points today as they lost to the home team Getafe 1:0. The lost gave Real Madrid more advantage over them in gap difference of 10 points making Girona to be uncertain about the second place in the league as the outcome of the game between Barca and ATM tomorrow will determine if Barcelona will overtake Girona in the second place because they are one point below Girona who has 62 points while Barca has 61 points. It was a shocking defeat for Girona today because they had more chances but they couldn't make good of the chances to score.
Girona struggled when faced with pressure towards the end of the season, losing points to Getafe was a big loss, because Barcelona was a real threat that could overtake their position in the standings. Michel will have to work hard to recreate consistency, even though their chances of finishing in the top four and getting a ticket to the Champions League are safe. If they continue to lose points, it is possible that Atletico will also overtake their position.
Girona is just lucky to have Started well if not with the continuous losing of points for some time now would have really affected their position in the league table, that's why in football it is wise to start early so that even if you are falling off points, you will still be in a convenient position.
