Girona started the season with incredible form, drawing attention as they rose to the top of the league standings. As I watched them climb, I never thought they would win the season's championship. This doubt was based on the knowledge that the players' performance would eventually be compromised by the demanding nature of football as the league moved closer to its conclusion.
Thus, it comes as no surprise that Girona's current standing reflects a downturn in their effectiveness on the field. Nonetheless, it's important to acknowledge Girona's commendable efforts in injecting excitement into the La Liga competition. Their resurgence has injected a breath of fresh air into a league that has long been devoid of such unexpected twists and turns. Girona's performance this season has undeniably left a lasting impression, setting a commendable benchmark for future seasons and sparking newfound interest and intrigue among fans and pundits alike.
I wouldn't say Girona is a team that will be able to maintain good form in every different season after this one, but this season La Liga is very different because of them. The title competition is basically the focus of discussion, but because in the end Girona lost a lot of points, now Real Madrid is too comfortable without a competitor.
Currently, I am watching the Atletico Madrid vs Barcelona match. Atletico Madrid has a higher probability of winning at home than Barcelona, of course I don't know the reason but I think this is a trap. Barcelona performed well in their previous match with a narrow win against Mallorca in La Liga, they are unbeaten in 9 matches in all competitions including winning the second leg of the Champions League 3-1 against Napoli. I think Barcelona will win this match, but of course it is still difficult to predict the result.
