@Volgastallion, What do you mean Real Madrid are lucky to be fighting against Girona for the title? As if they Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are not participating in La Liga or something? Girona has beaten Barcelona and Atletico Madrid very easily in this season. Yes, they have struggled recently but that does not take the credit away from Real Madrid for being consistent all over the season. Being Consistent is very tough due to the injuries and Real Madrid has managed to do it.
And as for them needing to save players, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid all 3 of them will be playing in the UCL knockout. They have a similar kind of schedule so I don't think things would be much different for each club.
I think Real Madrid will continue leading La Liga and Barcelona to be the second in the table from now on. Girona are dropping faster than I thought and Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao to book the third and fourth places. I start to doubt about Girona ability to take a ticket for UEFA Champions League since the beginning of this year, 2024, and they are proving it round after round. Meanwhile, Barcelona knocked Atletico Madrid in their home by three goals which is a very bad results for Simeone..
Girona are not dropping faster. They are at same points with Barcelona now and statically they not being able to qualify for Champions league is still possible but it's unlikely.
Both of Girona and Athletic Bilbao have played 29 matches. That means they have just 9 more to play. The points difference between them are 9 already. Girona is playing Real Betis tomorrow while Athletic club is playing with real madrid. That might take the difference higher. The most important match remaining for Girona is Barcelona, the Barcelona vs Girona could be the ultimate match and the fair way to decide who would be in the second place.
