What are you saying here? Madrid are lucky in the competition because they only face Girona and not a big club like Barcelona? What kind of ridiculous thinking is this lol.
That doesn't mean Madrid are lucky but indeed Barcelona don't have the same strength to compete in La Liga because of their poor form at the start of the season and that doesn't mean it's lucky for Madrid because after all the game is the same it's just performance that makes the difference and it's the inability of other clubs in La Liga not Madrid's luck.
We know that this season until now Madrid is still the most productive and most consistent club until now so seeing conditions like this we must realize that the difference is very pronounced for La Liga but this is not a fortune for 1 club because competition is based on performance and if the club cannot make its performance good do not expect to be able to be and compete for trophies.
Where was Barcelona when Real Madrid and Girona was on the title race for 2 months or more. Barcelona just picked form, and that does not mean that anyone should start comparing the with Real Madrid that has being in form since the beginning of this season till date. I guess @Volgastallion just want to hype Barcelona when they have already reached their limit.
Real Madrid playing in the champions league will not change anything in their performance, and does not mean that they are ready to drop point for anyone, especially now that Barcelona is on the second position. They will always be in their best performance to see that they don't drop points no matter if the worse happen to the players.
Actually, it doesn't matter if you want to compare when looking at the current performance for Barcelona because they do have a positive trend and an increase in current performance, it's just that looking at the current conditions I don't really agree when saying Madrid is lucky because after all when the season starts all have the same opportunity and when competing in the top standings or the race for the trophy it certainly depends on the performance they have because in the end that is the initial benchmark considering that good performance starts the competition that occurs.
As for Girona, who did become one of the previous contenders, it happened because of their very good performance even at the beginning of the season they were much better than Barcelona and Atletico so they deserved to be in that position even though now we can see that their performance is slowly regressing and failing to compete in the end.
Now there is still a chance for Barcelona if they are able to maintain their positive trend but of course the competition occurs if Madrid lose some momentum and lose some matches.
