It was a miracle that Girona had even stayed in the top of the standings up to this point, when most people expected them to have fallen down the standings long ago. They did very well until the Real Madrid game and then they had a breakdown. We cannot blame them. With the quality of the squad they had, they did a very outstanding job. Their manager said our goal was to stay in the top 3, he made a realistic speech. Now they are close to achieving that. They just need to play a few more games better and collect points.
What is happening to Girona now is understandable because of course they have lost confidence after the defeat against Real Madrid and this is also natural because their squad is not as luxurious as other big teams. But I think they will rise because they have a big dream of playing in the UCL next season.
It must be admitted that Girona can come this far is a surprise for Girona and what an extraordinary season this has been for Girona with the hope of at least being able to survive in the UCL competition. They deservedly qualified for the UCL League next season after the hard work the players put in, and I think everyone is surprised and proud of what they have achieved. They also make La Liga appear more attractive. However, their struggle to stay in the top four is not easy considering that Bilbao and Atletico Madrid are serious threats to them.
